Shoes

Get out of those boots and bring on some spring ready pumps and sandals! From sandals to flats to boots to heels, I love them all and I love shopping for them especially around this time of year. I can spend an entire afternoon and into the evening shopping for the perfect pair as I have many factors when looking for my perfect one. The first and probably the most important thing I look for is comfort. For me, a good pair of shoes has to be able to take a good beating as myself and fellow New Yorkers walk a lot. They have to be comfortable enough for a day strolling through Central Park and a night bar hopping in Williamsburg. Quality definitely relates to the comfort of the footwear as a quality pair of well made shoes will withstand all of the above and more. I make sure that they have a good grip at the bottom sole, are flexible and able to move with my feet and that the insoles have good cushioning to support my feet.

With that said, the thing that catches my eye on a shoe is the style. The comfort levels and quality won’t matter if the footwear is not my style, and I love many different styles. I love to try new styles so my closet ranges from sneakers to 4-inch heels. I love slip on sneakers for a casual Saturday afternoon of running errands. I also love to do a pump for a night out to dinner. I have footwear of all colors, from black suede boots to nude pumps and from purple slip on sneakers to silver oxfords.

Some of the styles I would love to own that are on trend for this season are gladiator sandals. They were all the rage last spring and that seems to be carrying through to this spring. Statement heels are a new one for this year. Heels that contain different prints, patterns and shapes look awesome to jazz up some jeans and a tee. Sneakers are also big this year. Go for less of an athletic sneaker and go for more of a sneaker with a fancier look. One with a suede texture, animal print or a pop of color.
